Our "DINO-MITE" Project and Museum Trip

Our transition class and Mrs. Celeste's class just finished up a month long dinosaur adventure.  It was so much fun to be able to incorporate dinosaurs into all areas of learning.  In the center room, we were able to add dinosaur figurines into the sensory table and block table.  The kids imaginations went wild!

We found a few different ways for the kids to excavate mini dinosaurs.  We made eggs out of ice and baking soda.  The kids were able to use salt water, tools, and vinegar to free the dinosaurs.

During our daily circle time, it was fun to teach the kiddos new dinosaur songs, read books about dinosaurs, and play games.  Our transition class loved being able to see how many popsicle sticks and shoes would fit in a large dinosaur footprint.  Celeste's class had fun wearing their dinosaur hats during their circle time.

The art center is the perfect place for the kids to be creative.  They were able to make dinosaur skin paintings using bubble wrap and their favorite paint colors.  They also used various cut out shapes to create their own origianl dinosaur.

We ended our adventure with a trip to the Museum of Osteology.  The kids participated in an animal movement class and were able to explore the whole museum and touch several types of animal bones.
